Funds provided by our parish to Our Lady of Hope Parish in the Dominican Republic last year helped build a new soup kitchen for the community.

The Catholic Church is truly universal - embracing people of every nation, culture, and language within one shared faith.  In our daily lives, it can be easy to lose sight of this beautiful reality. Parish twinning invites us to look outward, recognizing how much we can learn and grow by building a relationship with a Catholic community in another part of the world.

Our Parish Twinning mission is to live the Gospel by seeking, promoting, and supporting the formation, growth, and development of twinning relationships between Catholic parishes in the U.S. and Catholic parishes in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

We strive to fulfill this mission through a faithful dedication to:

• Deepen cross-cultural understanding in twinning relationships that builds solidarity and respect between parishes

• Achieve sustainable and lasting impact through our programs and initiatives

Our Impact

Since its founding in 2011, our program has experienced remarkable growth.  We are blessed to serve two sister parishes - one in Nicaragua and one in the Dominican Republic - building lasting connections across communities.

• Delegations:  Three groups have already traveled to Nicaragua to support our mission, with our first delegation to the Dominican Republic scheduled for 2026.

• Support:  Ongoing financial contributions and the dedication of parish volunteers continue to drive the success and sustainability of the program.

Gautier, Dominican RepublicThe Parish Twinning Program is a vital ministry of the Social Justice Commission, which calls people of every faith to work toward eliminating poverty, speak out against injustice, and build a more peaceful and just world.

• Commitment:  Each year, the Social Justice Commission dedicates approximately 12% of its budget to support projects that strengthen our Sister Parishes.
  
  
• Partnerships:  Through the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas (PTPA) - a non-profit organization that connects Catholic parishes with communities in need. 

This collaboration reflects our parish’s ongoing support of solidarity, compassion, and global justice.
